IF AIRPORTS HAD FEELINGS

Airports are the saddest places, the happiest places
They're goodbyes and hellos and see you nevers and see you sometimes
How do airports feel,
when the truth is nobody ever stays, not really

The people with bags move on to the doors, and into airplanes, which launch to the skies
The ones left behind walk back the way they came, feet and hearts heavier, sad

Maybe someday, she'd learn to walk away with a free heart
with the lightness of wings and the glorious noise of turbines

Maybe one day, the sadness would go away
Maybe one day they wouldn't
have to say see you later, next month, next year, five years later, never

Maybe someday home would be one place

Author's Notes

Okay, another piece with lots of feelings. And yes, inspired by LDR people. I mean, how do they do it? Because I don't think I can.

Let me know what you think.

All the love,
