They hype the sweet things--- chocolates
and flowers and teddy bears and date nights. Shiny and new and kilig. But
that’s romance. Don’t mistake it for love. Love is fixing wounds. Love is a
tight squeeze if the hand. Love is a kiss upon your brow after a long day. Love
is reaching out. Love is accompanying you to the ER because of a bout of
allergies in the middle of the night. Love is loving, even if you don’t like
them some days. Love is killing your demons and facing fears together. Love is
doing groceries and finding contentment in each other’s company.
Love is messy,
love is simple. But never superficial.
Love is the best kind of friendship, and
the best kind of friendship is love.
