JOED'S LUTONG HAPON

Let's take a #tb and thank God for the wonder that is Joed's Lutong Hapon.

If you're a Queen City native, you've probably heard of these guys. Heck, you might even have them on your Favorite Places to Eat Where I Don't Have to Dress Up list already. Joed's gained lots of attention a couple of years back from being the only "Japanese Eatery" around town.

They also transferred from place to place, starting from a small eskina in Mabolo, then to a much roomier place right beside SHS-Hijas de Jesus in Capitol, then back to Mabolo, this time in F. Cabahug right across Sarossa Hotel. I swear, these guys move more often than your regular backpacker. Doesn't seem to stop their following though. The people just keep coming.

Joed's is not a fancy place and for that reason it will forever hold a place in my heart. It was the only place to offer us food and shelter during the crazy Sinulog Baseline parties. The keep the place clean and they serve you cold mineral water (tap water tastes weird to me) for free. It was my safe place from the raging crowd of partygoers. How could I forget the taste of their hot beef ramen taking away my kabuhi

Or their very affordable maki? In most restaurants this would've cost around 200php. Joed's has them for around half the price.

Their bento is the cure to all your cravings.

Omnom.

Have I told you how much I love their rolls?

Here have a platter.

Dude, you need some ebi tempura in your life.

Ah, Joed's. Amidst all the big Japanese buffet places growing around the island, you're still one of my favourite places. Itadakimasu all the way.

Joed's Lutong Hapon is located at F. Cabahug St, Panagdait, Mabolo. Right across Sarossa Hotel. Take a 03A or 03B from J. Luna St. :)

Are you hungry? Me, too.
